The availability of such flexibility enables MillenniumIT to complete the initial deployment of Millennium Surveillance and subsequently introduce new surveillance patterns and support new products, in a fraction of the time that a traditional software system would require.
High performance and scalability Millennium Surveillance is designed and architected to run “in-memory” to achieve unparalleled performance on mid range classes of affordably priced servers. Data and pattern processing is handled by processing clusters called ‘Partitions’ that can be deployed in parallel to linearly increase processing capacity.
The system can be scaled up easily, affordably and incrementally by adding new servers, as and when required. Growth in the number of trades or products under surveillance will not require costly and complex hardware and application upgrades. System performance can be enhanced also by increasing the capacity of existing servers, allowing both horizontal and vertical growth.
External connectivity through programmable message gateways Interconnectivity to external systems is through message gateways at the edge of the system, which perform message translations from external formats to a single internal representation. This allows the support of any interconnect format. The programmable message broker uses BID technology to provide rule based message transformation and mapping thus allowing support for any interconnect format.
Distributed fault tolerance and high availability
One of the distinguishing features of MillenniumIT products is that fault tolerance is implemented at the application level. Standby processes enable service continuance in case of machine failure and network disconnects, providing a mission-critical level of availability comparable or better than traditional hardware-based architecture, at a fraction of the cost.
Efficient usage of bandwidth: Spatial Subscription
The use of MillenniumIT’s proprietary and patent pending “Spatial Subscription” technology allows a large amount of market information required for real time scrutiny to be displayed on surveillance workstations with economical use of network bandwidth. Spatial Subscription sends updates only to the visible areas of a screen hence drastically reducing bandwidth requirements. The front ends have the same ease of management as a browser based application whilst offering exceptional performance even on low bandwidth networks.
Support available around the clock With the 24 x 7 Global Support Centre based at our facilities in Sri Lanka, clients are assured of prompt support even outside its trading hours. If required, services of fully trained on-site Application Support Engineers and Business Analysts can be offered, who would then be the first point of contact for support on the application.
