Patterns can be configured to be evaluated in real time or offline scanning trading data spanning from ‘seconds’ to ‘years’ using preprocessed data stored as derived knowledge in a data warehouse. In addition to trading data, patterns can also be configured to evaluate and trigger on external events such as announcements or news.
Real time and offline analysis
Multidimensional real time views of Instruments, Brokers, Traders and counterparty activity enriched with graphs enable surveillance personnel to effortlessly scrutinize the market as all required information is available at a glance.
Fully configurable views with colour logic and a wide range of sort, filter and search options enable easy visualization of market activity. All information on an underlying entity, including graphs, is accessible with a single click.
Surveillance users are immediately alerted on detection of suspicious trading patterns via descriptive alert messages. If necessary, these alert messages can be configured by users to include additional information they require on the detected pattern.
Once a pattern is triggered and an alert generated, surveillance users can immediately drill down to replay market activities to visualize exactly what has happened or directly move into carrying out further investigations offline using advanced pattern mining.
Complex patterns involving large amounts of historical transactions are generally evaluated off line. Historical data can be mined for a user defined period for a selected subset of patterns if required.
When a pattern is detected, a predefined set of default reports can be generated providing users with all necessary background information on the detected pattern while cases that gather related information as evidence can be created or updated automatically. The ‘Reasoning out’ facility provided enables surveillance users to ascertain the actual reason(s) for the pattern to have got triggered and generate detailed reports if necessary.
