Millennium Olympics 2007

Millennium Information Technologies organized its first ever ‘Millennium Olympics 2007’, which was held on the 24th of March, 2007, at the company’s main software development center in Malabe. The games were deliberately held at this time of the year, in order to coincide with the new year, and thus incorporated both sporting and Avurudhu events for company employees and their families.

This was the first time MilenniumIT has held such an event, which turned out to be immensely successful and well attended. It incorporated many individual and team sports including: athletics, swimming, football, water volleyball, tap rugby and of course the traditional Avurudhu games. Although with every sporting event, there are invariably winners and losers, this purpose of this company event was to build camaradarie and employee relations.

After the award ceremony was concluded, the festivities echoed well into the night, with members and participants of all five houses, along with their families, going home feeling proud and happy to be a part of the Millennium experience!
