Mack GillCEOMack Gill has been in the financial technology industry since 1994, working for one of the largest global vendors of financial-markets software, SunGard. He started in the derivatives software business and later became President of SunGard Technology Services, where he launched and developed SunGard’s software development and client services operations in Asia, scaling the business to 3,000 employees. Later, he headed the company’s global consulting business, managing over 1,000 consultants worldwide, before being selected to manage SunGard’s overall technology strategy.
Mack was chosen as a member of the Young Global Leaders, an affiliate of the World Economic Forum, and is a Board Member of the International Association for Quantitative Finance(IAQF). He holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia and a Master's from Yale University.
Mack Gill succeeded MillenniumIT founder Tony Weeresinghe as CEO in May 2013.
Hemantha Jayawardena Chief Operating OfficerPreviously Chief Deployment Officer at MillenniumIT, Hemantha has close to ten years’ experience in the implementation of trading and related systems for the capital markets industry, and can safely claim to be one of the world’s leading experts in the subject.
Before joining MillenniumIT he worked at Lanka Internet Services, Sri Lanka’s pioneer ISP, where he was Chief Technology Officer from 1994 to 1996 and CEO from 1997 to 2000. Hemantha has a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Faiq FaaizExecutive Vice PresidentFaiq Faaiz currently heads MillenniumIT’s systems integrator business and has over 15 years of experience in the technology industry. He is responsible for managing the continued growth of the company, with a strategic initiative to grow the business globally.
Prior to rejoining MillenniumIT in his current capacity, Faiq, together with Tony Weeresinghe and a few others, was one of the founding members of MillenniumIT. He was initially involved in Business Development for the company and subsequently took on the role of the Head of Engineering. He holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Ajit SamaranayakeChief ScientistAs MillenniumIT’s Chief Scientist, Ajit is responsible for developing new ideas, giving direction and focus to our development teams, assessing the viability of their ideas, and helping to functionalise those with the most potential and turn them into world-class products. In his previous role as the Head of Software Development, Ajit’s vision has shaped many of the innovations that give MillenniumIT its competitive edge.
Before joining MillenniumIT, Ajit worked at General Electric in the UK. He has considerable experience in developing and deploying depository and trading systems for capital markets and in service billing systems. Ajit has a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering and a M.Sc. in Optical Communications from the University of Glasgow, UK.
Mark HarriesExecutive Vice President, MillenniumIT and General Manager, Technology Services, LSEGMark joined the London Stock Exchange in 1997 and has been involved in a number of the major projects and strategic initiatives since then. Following the acquisition of MillenniumIT in October 2009, he is currently responsible for the LSE Group - MillenniumIT interface and splits his time between London and Colombo. Mark is a graduate engineer and prior to joining the LSE worked as a consultant project manager in the engineering, construction and financial services sectors.
Lorne ChambersHead of Sales & MarketingBased in London, where he leads the company’s global sales activities across its entire product portfolio; Lorne Chambers is MillenniumIT’s Head of Sales and Marketing and the latest addition to the Executive Committee.
Before joining the company in January 2015, Lorne enjoyed a highly successful career at Nasdaq, where he was most recently Global Head of Sales and Business Development for SMARTS Integrity, Nasdaq’s global surveillance solution for exchanges and regulators. Lorne was, in fact, a key member of the team which set up SMARTS prior to its acquisition by Nasdaq.
Lorne holds a B.Com first-class honours degree from the University of New South Wales and the University of Western Australia.
Fadhil Jiffry Chief Financial OfficerFadhil joins MillenniumIT from Goodhope Asia Holdings Limited in Singapore where he was the Regional Financial Controller and Head of Finance Downstream. Prior to this, Fadhil was CFO at Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in Sri Lanka. He and his team won three regional awards for innovation and process improvement.
Fadhil holds a B.Sc. from the University of Colombo along with an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He is an associate member of the ACCA UK and CIM UK and is also a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK.
